Privacy Policy

This page explains what Pamoja Villas does — and, just as importantly, does not — do with your information, both on this website and when you get in touch or stay with us.

Last updated: 17 August 2026

In short

  • This website has no accounts, no sign-ups and no tracking cookies or advertising trackers.
  • The enquiry form doesn't send anything to our servers — it opens WhatsApp with your details already typed in, ready for you to send yourself.
  • We never sell your information, and we only collect what we need to reply to you or host your stay.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy is written by Pamoja Villas, a small beachfront property in Migogoni / Fukuchani, Zanzibar. It covers this website and the information we collect if you contact us or book a stay. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Booking.com or Google Maps — each of those has its own privacy policy, which applies once you leave our site.

2. What this website itself collects

Nothing, by default. The site is a set of static pages — there is no account system, no database, and no form on this site that submits your details to us or to anyone else. We don't run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other analytics or advertising script, and we don't use cookies to track you across visits or across other websites.

The one small exception: your browser may briefly remember, for the current tab only, that it has already shown you the WhatsApp bubble's welcome animation, so it doesn't repeat it. That's stored in your browser's own memory (not a cookie), is never sent to us or anyone else, and disappears when you close the tab.

3. Enquiries, and how WhatsApp fits in

Every "Message us" or "Enquire" button on this site — including the booking bar with rooms, dates and guest numbers — builds a WhatsApp message in your own browser and hands it to WhatsApp to send. We only receive it once you tap send inside WhatsApp, using your own WhatsApp account. That conversation, and anything you choose to share in it, is handled by WhatsApp underWhatsApp's own privacy policy, operated by Meta. We keep the conversations you send us so we can respond to you and arrange your stay.

4. Information we collect if you book or stay with us

Once an enquiry turns into a booking, we typically hold on to:

  • Your name, phone number and/or email address, and the dates and party size of your stay.
  • Identity or passport details we're required to record for guest registration under Tanzanian law, and any details you choose to share about dietary needs, special occasions or accessibility so we can look after you properly.
  • If you book through Booking.com rather than directly, the details Booking.com passes to us to fulfil the reservation — their privacy policy governs what they collect from you.

We don't take card payments through this website, so we never see or store your full card details ourselves.

5. How we use it

Only to reply to your enquiry, prepare for and host your stay, meet the legal requirements that apply to hotels and guest houses in Tanzania (such as guest registration), and, where relevant, to follow up afterwards — for example asking how your stay was. We don't use your details for marketing you haven't asked for, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

6. Who we share it with

We don't share your information with third parties for their own marketing. We may share it with local authorities where Tanzanian law requires it (such as immigration or guest registration requirements), or with Booking.com if that's how you booked. Otherwise, it stays with the small team running the property.

7. How long we keep it

We keep booking and guest records for as long as we reasonably need them to run the property and to satisfy any legal record-keeping requirements, and then remove them. If you message us but never book, we keep that conversation only as long as is useful for following up with you.

8. Your rights

Under Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you're contacting us from the EU or UK, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. To make a request, email us at pamojavillas@gmail.comand we'll get back to you.

9. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable care to protect the information you share with us, and we limit access to it to the people who need it to run your stay. No method of storing or sending information is completely without risk, but we don't hold anything on this website's servers in the first place, which limits what there is to protect.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how the site or our booking process handles information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top.

11. Contact us
